Vintage Wedding at Brookleigh | Sarah & Daniel

Sarah and Daniel wedding was held at Brookleigh in the Swan Valley, which is one of our favourite wedding venues in Perth, with the pretty architecture, lakes, barns, secret corridors, pretty trees and beautiful gardens. It was perfect for their vintage romance styled wedding.

Sarah and her bridesmaids Kristie and Jessica got ready at the beautiful Lakeside Villa, meanwhile a few minutes away the boys Dan, Terry and Josh were at the Bunkhouse. It was fantastic having the entire day, including the bride and the grooms preparations, ceremony and reception all on the same venue, it saved so much time since we didn’t have to travel anywhere. Yay!

With the weatherman predicting a shower or two and the sky looking a little threatening, we were slightly worried that Sarah and Daniel’s outdoor wedding ceremony may be shifted to the barns (which looked lovely but smelt like horse!) Luckily the would-be rain turned into fluffy white clouds which made for pretty skies and an amazing sunset. It must have been the sunny Queensland weather that the guests had brought over with them :) The ceremony was held lakeside, which was about 30 metres away from where the girls got ready in their villa. Sarah had decorated the ceremony area with pretty frames filled with quotes hanging by ribbon from the trees, very creative!   Sarah’s mum had made the ribbon and rose backdrop for the ceremony,  and even the vintage bridesmaids dresses had been crafted by the bridesmaids mums.   Josh and Chloe looked so cute as they walked down the aisle together, and Sarah looked stunning.

Sarah wanted something in the ceremony that was special to her and Daniel, so apart from writing their own vows she also came up with the idea of writing a letter to each other that was placed in a beautiful old antique suitcase with a bottle of wine to be opened on their first anniversary. Their celebrant John came up with the idea of adding new letters to the suitcase each anniversary so that in 10 years they could read back through the letters they had written and remember why they had fallen in love. Such a great idea.

The bridal photos were taken near the lake, the garden, the vines and barn, and also the secret corridor near the villa :) So many places for inspiration, we loved it! As the sun set, golden light filtered through the trees, and once the sun set we were given a spectacle of vibrant pink fluffy clouds.

The intimate reception was held on the property at Stewart’s Restaurant, where Sarah, and her mum’s artistic touches were again apparent, in the creative table pieces, decorations and wedding cake with most details either handmade or collected from op shops and markets. A row of silver candelabras, glass vases, candle holders and jars and a few pink and white ceramic vases filled  with candles and fresh roses in different shades of pink ran down the center the  banquet table.  Sarah’s artistic  mum made the bluebirds on the cake, the R & L letters and the lace table runner on the banquet table. The bonbonniere were little silver boxes filled with gourmet jelly beans, as on one of Sarah and Daniels first dates, they had sat by the water making cocktails from gourmet jelly beans. The night started out very relaxed, and ended in some crazy fun dancing.

Thank you Dan and Sarah  for being such awesome models and giving us the opportunity to create these pics! We really loved all the little details and artistic touches that went into your wedding, everything looked so beautiful and was a pleasure to photograph.
