Cristal + Troy | Christchurch and Forrest Centre Wedding

Cristal and Troy’s love story is so perfectly romantic, it could be straight out of a movie! They met each other at Benny’s, a bar in Fremantle when Troy was dragged in there by a friend for “just one drink”. Meanwhile Cristal was on stage, singing in the band that was playing that night. No long after Troy walked in,  their eyes locked across the room and they proceeded to stare at each other the entire night, both too shy to approach one another. Troy’s friend asked him why he hadn’t gone over and talk to Cristal, Troy replied “because, If I talk to that girl, I’ll marry her”. Eventually, when Cristal was on her final break, Troy’s friend pushed him into the crowd towards her. They started talking and well, the rest is history…

Troy’s proposal was also super thoughtful and romantic! Early in their relationship Cristal had told Troy that when she was a little girl she used to love hunting for snails in her grandparents backyard. So, on their anniversary, Troy gave Cristal a wooden snail which he had hand-carved himself. As Cristal looked at all the intricate detailing on the shell, Troy told her “the shell comes off”. Cristal pulled the shell off, and sitting inside the shell was a shiny engagement ring. Then (amidst Cristal’s gasping) Troy got down on one knee and proposed. See, how romantic is that!

Now I do find that interesting because not only did the lovely couple find each other with love at first sight, that’s how Cristal found us too… she has seen us photographing another wedding and had sent a friend out to get our details. :)

Their wedding day was romantically sweet, fun and  perfect! Their ceremony was held at Christchurch, where they exchanged their vows in front of a packed church. After the ceremony we has a few stops along Mounts bay Road as we headed to the reception at the Forrest
Centre in the CBD. Before their grand entrance we wandered to Saint Georges Square, and then up to the freeway overpass for sunset photos and managed to sneak in a few with the city lights.

A big thank you to Troy and Cristal for having us part of your fun day :)
