It was an honour to photograph Jacinta and Dave’s wedding. A very long time ago we all worked together at Action Supermarkets. And before I even knew Dave and Jacinta were going out, I remember noticing how enthusiastically they were washing their checkouts together after a busy Saturday shift, and I commented that I thought they liked each other :) Wise words.
Fast forward another eight years to 2013, Dave had set himself a goal to propose to Jacinta sometime before the end of the year, and was patiently waiting for the right moment. It wasnt until he realised that it was the second last day of the year, and besides New Years Eve, there wasn’t anymore evenings left that he swung into action. So on December 30, Dave and his brothers and best mates quickly gathered the supplies, bags of glowsticks. Dave romantically invited Jacinta for a drive to Kings Park, and then convinced her to climb to the top of the DNA Tower. Slightly suspicious, Jacinta agreed. Luckily she had brought her glasses, and it was then, from the very top of the DNA tower she saw the words “will you marry me” written in glow sticks on the grass far below.
Which is how, nearly a decade later, I was there photographing their wedding. We started the day where David, along with groomsmen Pete, Adrian, Chris and Daniel and page boy, also called Daniel were getting ready, or should I say trying to figure out their bow ties and suspenders :) Around the corner Jacinta and bridesmaids Tahlia, Lucia, Julie and Chenelle and flower girl Alysha were were busy having the final touches done to their hair and makeup.
Their ceremony was held in St Laurence’s Church, with its stained glass cross in the ceiling which I was totally fascinated with! Their ceremony was beautiful and filled with much laughter :) This was followed by bridal party photos at Kings Park, including the DNA Tower, and then the Blue Boat Shed.
Their Reception was held in the Riverside Ballroom at Novotel Perth Langley. The room looked amazing, with I loved the fairly lights on their backdrop, looked awesome for photos :)
