Basia’s and Alex’s wedding was a beautiful day, so much love and laughter.
Their beautiful ceremony was held at Our Lady Queen of Poland Chapel in Maylands. Their Flower Girls and Page Boys were so cute in their traditional Polish costumes. After the ceremony, before we headed to the Swan Valley for bridal party photos, guests mingled and had snacks and drinks in the hall next door. After a quick stop in Guildford for photos, we wandered around the stunning grounds at Mulberry on Swan. Such a pretty location!
Later, Basia and Alex joined their guests for canapés in the cosy Cellar Room at Mulberry on Swan. Then a special Polish tradition was held where they were presented with rye bread, salt and vodka by their parents. The bread symbolised the hope that they will never be hungry; the salt the difficulties they may encounter in their married life and the vodka their parents’ wishes for health and happiness. Following this, the bride and groom, together with their guests, moved upstairs to the reception hall where the guests ate, drank and danced the night away. A surprise performance by the Polish dance troupe, Kukuleczka, with their amazing moves and colourful costumes really got everyone involved on the dance floor. We thoroughly enjoyed watching them!
Thank you Basia and Alex for having us along for the day. It was an honour to share it with you both. xo
