Dan and Danelle first met after Danelle was invited to a dinner by match maker (and sister in-law) Chloe. They instantly became friends, but it wasn’t until a few months later at the horse races that sparks really started flying as they realised just how much the had in common – especially a love of good food and wine, travel and of course horses!
Their love story was going so smoothly, when suddenly the unthinkable happened. During a fun day out on the water, Danelle was involved in a life threatening boating accident that turned their lives turned upside down. Despite everything that they went through, they both survived and with their relationship blossomed. And as Danelle says, once you go through something like that and come out the other side, you know its forever! I couldn’t help but be inspired by Danelle’s tough, yet easy going personality, from the moment I met her when she was a bridesmaid at Prue and Michael’s wedding – I have never seen someone hurl their crutches so far! :P
Half a decade later, after a European holiday, purchasing a house and many winners, Dan took Danelle engagement ring shopping. Because, according to Danelle, he has trouble picking the right box of chocolates, so she though he needed all the help he could get choosing the ring! After Danelle tried on nearly everything in store she decided her perfect ring would have to be custom made. Dan meanwhile managed to find the perfect balance between choice and spontaneity when he somehow managed to convince Rosendorfs to create the custom ring in just 6 days. So when he popped the question with champagne by the pool at their home it really was a complete surprise!
Danelle managed to organise their intimate lunchtime wedding at Peel Estate Wines in just 6 months. Their wedding was particularly emotional, as Danelle walked down the aisle with her dad, danced with her father, and had her first dance with her husband. And not only because her wedding was such a touching, intimate day, but because after the boating accident no one was sure Danelle would be able to walk or dance again. So much emotion…
Their ceremony was held on the lawn under a gorgeous tree, overlooking the vineyards that were glowing in the afternoon sun. Around the lawn were outdoor games, lounges, a drinks caravan, and marquee set up with long tables where their beautiful reception was held.
