Stunning Greek Wedding | Tiria and Todd

Tiria and Todds wedding  beautiful and we’re very excited to share it with you!

Ironically being almost Summer, it actually rained during the daytime which is pretty rare in Perth. Luckily most of the downpour was during the ceremony, whilst we were safely inside the Greek Orthodox Church of St Constantine in Northbridge.The ceremony itself was very traditional, and from a photography point of view we thought it was great as the church offered access to the sides behind the couple. This makes a change from strict rules we encounter in Catholic Churches and gave us the opportunity to capture the events from a variety of angles. Greek traditions included the crowning, the Dance of Isaiah, being connected by ribbon and drinking a cup of sweet wine which is shared by the couple as a sign of their common life together, and their sharing of future joy and sorrow.

After the most organised wedding lunch stop ever, the bridal party made a quick dash to an open park so we could capture some photos with the amazing sky that formed after the rain stopped. Th best thing about rainy weather is that the sky  looks so good for photos. Kudos to Tom for being an awesome light stand holder. Then we headed to UWA where the groomsmen Graham, Daniel, Josh and Tom did their best cool dude impressions. Whilst bridesmaids Steph, Tess, Georgia, Deanna pulled out their glamorous poses.

The reception was also held on the university  grounds at the elegant University Club of Western Australia, Where the vibrancy and fun of a traditional Greek celebration really emerged. After the witty speeches the crazy fun Greek dancing started! Tiria looked like a princess, in her amazing gown, whilst the rest of the guests bounced around like energetic kangaroos on the packed dancefloor.

Thanks Tiria and Todd for a wonderful day. And  although you must have thought we were nuts when we suggested we take photos  in the rain we’re really glad you were up for it!
