On one of his flights to the US for work, Tom met what was destined to be his soul mate. Laila, one of the cabin crew on that flight, instantly caught his eye, and as they shared a brief introduction and shy smiles between each other, Tom searched for any excuse just to continue talking to this beautiful girl. Tom realised Laila was essentially trapped with him for the next 15 hours, so she had nowhere to go, but he still acted with a sense of urgency. Unfortunately the “perfect” excuse in this instance came in the form of Laila’s misfortune where she wasn’t quite feeling 100%, but he took the opportunity to keep checking up on Laila’s well being, and before the flight landed, his charm had won her over. Laila agreed to come on a date with him.
This is the start of their beautiful love story, and these photos capture the moments of their special day where they professed their eternal love for one another. Guests came from all over the world, including Tom’s uncle from Croatia and his auntie, uncle, and cousin from Melbourne. Laila’s mum came from Morocco, her Aunt from France and her Maid of Honour from England.
Tom’s sister Olivia was an absolute star that day. She was the first one ready, well before Tom had even made it over to his parents’ house, and she was the last once dancing! Not bad for a 3 year old!!
Their wedding was held in North Fremantle, and we then visited Fremantle Prison for the bridal party photos. This was a great location with the heritage scenery, a huge courtyard, shelter from the windy weather, the fantastic textures and colours, and of course the fun and photogenic bridal party!
Their reception was held at the Rydges Esplanade Hotel, where the food was delicious, and the function coordinater extra helpful!! We also loved the venue because it’s so close to the beach and Esplanade Park which make perfect settings for sunset photos. After taking one look at Laila’s stunning handmade shoes from Turkey, we did her a favour and took the closest possible option, and wandered over the park across the road for a photo with the ferris wheel in the backdrop.
Thanks Tom and Laila for an amazing day and for having us at your wedding!
