Vintage picnic at Green Place Reserve, Mosman Park | Tansy and Ciaran

As soon as we met Tansy and Ciaran we knew that their wedding was going to be amazing. From Ciaran’s romantic proposal on a little bridge in Venice, to the (not true) story that their daughter Indiana had stolen their good looks!  Despite the fact they had just brought their wedding forward 6 months and we were meeting them a week before the big day, all we sensed was an aura of calm. No wonder, the amount of hard work and help that their amazing family and friends had pitched in, along with Tansy’s super creativity they had no reason to stress.

Although the fact that Ciaran had visited the venue of their ceremony and reception for the last two Saturdays before their wedding, and there had been other weddings on! Which is a little crazy since the venue, Green Place Reserve in Mosman Park cannot actually be booked. I must say Ciaran did a great job mowing the lawn at the park the day before the wedding and everything went to plan… luckily no one else had planned to use the park that day, phew.

We started the morning with the girls, Tansy, Kim and Jenny, and page boy Jayden and beautiful daughter Indiana. With guests staying with them from South Africa and England, the atmosphere was full of excitement.

Meanwhile the boys were setting up for their vintage themed picnic in the park. The ceremony location was set up with vintage chairs, some which the couple had repainted and reupholstered themselves. They had collected vintage picture frames, as well as cute glass jars that were filled with fresh flowers and hung in the trees. The guests were dressed with a vintage feel, with the ladies in summer dresses and the men sporting top hats, braces or bow ties.

Tansy and her bridesmaids departed from Matilda Bay on groomsman Jamie’s speed boat, the scenic ride over to Green Place Reserve was past the Perth skyline. The ceremony was held under a beautiful tree, with the Swan River in the background.

The rest of the celebration was held in the far side of the park, on picnic blankets with picnic baskets having a list of names attached to add a little formality to the otherwise casual event. The food was provided by the caterer’s and looked delicious, from cheeses, cold meats, spreads and fresh breads. The wedding cake was made by Tansy herself, and decorated with lace and fresh flowers it looked amazing. And tasted as good as it looked!

The afternoon turned into a cricket tournament, the kids played in the trees and long grass. The guests relaxed into the late afternoon sun, even a dolphin came for a visit. Oh and a streaker!

Thanks Ciaran and Tansy for having us part of your amazing day! We are so glad that we were available to photograph your memorable day. And a big shout out to James for recommending us.  :)
