Wedding Photography: Queens Gardens and Banca Cafe

What a fun day! We recently photographed Jenni and Vic’s beautiful wedding at Queens Gardens in East Perth with its ornamental lakes and bridges, manicured lawns, colourful flower beds and a replica of the Peter Pan statue in Kensington Gardens, London. Except for a few drops of rain during the ceremony, the day was perfect.   It took about 5 seconds from the first drop until the entire bridal party were suddenly in possession of black umbrellas, and as quickly as the rain had started it stopped again.  And the cloudy skies made for great wedding  photography so it worked out well.

The signing of the marriage papers was held in conjunction with a semi-impromptu singing and dance performance by the bridesmaids, who definitely kept the crowd entertained. We were glad there were two photographers as there were so many things happening at once! The family portraits and bridal party photos were all taken in the Queen’s Gardens, as there was so much variety in the one place!

Later the reception was held in the stylish Banca Cafe, Tuart Hill. Previously a bank, the polished concrete floors and  mood  lighting  made for a fantastic venue for the cocktail function. As he crowd mingled, Richard and I set up a photo booth at the back of the restaurant, and through out the evening many of the guests came to visit us for some formal (and not so formal) group photos.

A special thanks to my mum- for randomly mentioning my photography skills whilst whilst shopping at the jewellery store where Jenni works. This is how Jenni and Vic found and booked us! :)
