When Richard and I met Jenn and Lance, what really stood out was Lance’s romantic side. So many romantic stories, for example, when they were first introduced, Jenn had been planning on moving to the UK to live in a castle for a year – but these plans were put on hold when she fell in love with Lance. So that year Lance baked enormous gingerbread castle for Jenn’s birthday.
Lance proposed to Jennifer at Molloy Island, near Augusta. But being the creative romantic he is, it was not without a plan. Surprising Jennifer at such a special place to her was not enough to satisfy this romantic. Lance managed to spend a day (after getting dressed in his work gear and pretending to go to work) to organise his big surprise. Wanting to propose on the Blackwood river surrounding Molloy Island, he used his day off from work to buy supplies – a kayak. And then just a quick 4 hour drive each way to drop it off and hide it at their place at Molloy Island. He had also packed for Jenn, since it was a surprise trip away he packed pretty much all her clothes and shoes, in case she wanted to wear any of them. How sweet! On the Friday evening, he blind folded her up and said he was taking her to dinner. After a while he told her actually he is taking her to do something else, so they kept driving- Jennifer blind folded and all. Four hours and 350km later (which Jenn said didn’t feel like long at all) they arrived at Molloy Island! After a few days down there, Lance managed to sneak the kayak and some wine to a special place by the river. He proposed under a little bridge in a inlet and the rest is history!
Richard and I had been looking forward to Jenn and Lances big day. And it was just as expected, a beautiful day, a stunning location, and a fun loving bride and groom and bridal party at the Rosehill Country Club in South Guilford. Being the romantic couple they are, they spent their honeymoon at Molloy Island.
