Katherine and Ryan are one of the toughest couples I have photographed. The stormy winds and side-ways drizzle may have taken out one of our umbrellas but that and the threatening clouds didn’t stop them from happily agreeing to go down to the beach for some photos, true army style! :) Combined with their military precision, and super efficient family and friends we managed to have quite a few nearby photo locations, as well as an intermission for them to enjoy canapes with their guests.
Their wedding felt like a destination wedding in Perth, with even Katherine and Ryan currently living in Darwin and their guests were from all over Australia. Hillarys made the perfect location with the apartments nearby, which is where they got ready. Their ceremony was held at the amphitheater on Sorrento Beach, it looked stunning with the limestone stairs, white sand, turquoise water and a stormy purple sky behind. It was a little windy, but luckily we’d had a quick stop along the way and Katherine was able to figure out that her veil was not going to cooperate in the wind, so it sadly didn’t make it the ceremony.
Their bridal party photos were taken around Hillarys, and their cocktail reception was held at the Breakwater, overlooking the harbour. And yes, I can tell nearly everyone was on holiday by the crazy fun dancing :)
Thank you Katherine and Ryan for having us at your wedding, for being super tough braving the wind and drizzle, for your military precision!
