Loan and Alex |First Anniversary Portraits + Celebrations

Alex met Loan in Bangkok, just after they had both moved there for work, at a cocktail party organized by their relocation agency. Alex is from England, and Loan from Vietnam. They both love traveling and have been in many places together from Thailand and the cherry blossoms in Japan, until Alex finally proposed to Loan on a gondola ride in Venice, talk about romantic! They were married in Vietnam last year. The crazy thing is, we figured out Richard had already seen a few snaps of their wedding in Vietnam a year prior from a mutual friend who had travelled over there for the wedding. What are the chances of that!?

They travelled to Perth to celebrate their first anniversary, as Alex used to live here and he wanted Loan to get to know the place he calls his second home. When Loan’s friend contacted me and asked if I would be able to photograph their anniversary dinner at C restaurant, I suggested we first take some photos around Perth. And that was how we ended up, one sunny Sunday afternoon dashing around some of our favourite, iconic places along the Swan River. :) The autumn leaves were in bloom and the clouds looked so perfectly surreal. We also managed to get some pics by the bell tower before it was completely inundated bu the construction for Elizabeth Quay.

Thank you Alex and Loan for a fun afternoon, some good laughs, interesting stories, and for giving me a new appreciation of the kangaroo statues that I have walked past so many times.
