Inglewood Estate Wedding in Melbourne | Felicity and Mark

We are always excited for destination weddings, and we were honoured when Mark and Felicity asked us to photograph their wedding in Melbourne. Richard has known Mark since way back, they first met through taekwondo when competing at interstate competitions together. Mark  and Felicity also met through taekwondo, so needless to say the sport had a pretty big significance on the day .

No sooner had we arrived in Melbourne in than daylight savings ended. It was like our watches were playing musical chairs, everyday that weekend was on a different timezone for us.Yay to getting an extra hour in our weekend though!

Mark and Felicities wedding day started with Felicity and her bridesmaids Michelle, Lara and Jacinta getting  ready at Yarra Valley Lodge  which is an amazing location surrounded by stunning countryside, totally different to anything in Perth. When we arrived, the bridesmaids were in their matching pink PJs, we even did an re-enactment  photo shoot of them waking up :)  The atmosphere was pretty relaxed; we even had time for Felicity to put on her taekwondo uniform to demonstrate some of her moves.

Meanwhile the boys were getting ready at Marks grandma’s house. Groomsmen Rob showed me some of his poses from his past modelling days, and Mark’s sons, Matthew and James  looked very grownup in their suits.

The beautiful ceremony was held in the Chapel at Inglewood Estate in Kangaroo Ground, which surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards and bush has a distinctively rustic Australian feel.  Felicity’s mum was the celebrant, which was very sweet, with plenty of laughter and a few tears shed during the intimate ceremony. Just outside the chapel were beautiful gardens, including a  lake with a  jetty,  cute colonial buildings,   tractors, wooden bridges and pretty trees which made for a great background fr bridal party photos.

The celebration continued with the reception held on the same property, in what  used to be an old hay shed! The venue was full of character, with corrugated iron ceiling and a beautiful open pot belly stove as a centrepiece. Bridesmaid Lara used her cooking talent to whip up the awesome gluten free wedding cake, complete with a Beauty and the Beast cake topper. In fitting in with the theme there was a hilarious Shrek themed presentation, and the name tags were written with icing on gingerbread men.  Fun times ensured, under the pitter patter of the evening rain. Luckily Felicity and Mark are tough and we managed to sneak outside for a few awesome photos in the rain!

A big thank you to Felicity and Mark for having us at your wedding, and to Paul from Moving Pixels in Melbourne who helped out as our lighting assistant and third shooter :)
