Monique Lhuillier Wedding Dresses Spring 2012

There’s just something indescribable about Lhuillier’s gowns, and it may have something to do with how this designer got her start. When tying the knot in 1995, Monique was unpleasantly surprised with the lack of fashion-forward bridal options. Just one year later, she launched her first bridal collection and the rest is history. I have a very eclectic sense of style, so I’ll never be a ‘classic bride’, a ‘romantic bride’ or a ‘boho bride’; I’ll be a total mix. And this is exactly why I adore Monique Lhuillier. When you view her collection, you can’t categorize it. Words like whimsical, romantic, modern, traditional, feminine, dramatic… they all come to mind. So do words like gorgeous, stunning and drool-worthy! The Spring 2012 collection is jam-packed with gorgeous gowns!! From Black Swan ballet-inspired ball gowns to sleek modern mermaids, these dresses are heavenly. And it’s all about luxe texture and intricate detailing.

I see a reemergence of spaghetti straps thanks to Monique! Her Spring 2012 collection is filled with corset bodices with sweetheart necklines and delicate spaghetti straps. She also delivers on-trend sleeved styles like the Catherine wedding dress inspired by the Duchess, Kate Middleton! And since royal wedding fever is still in full swing, you’ll adore the Pippa lace-embellished little white dress.

Another noticeable trend is non-white wedding dresses (offbeat brides, rejoice!). I am head-over-heels for the blush-hued gowns like the Candy, Amber and Waltz. How romantic are these?!
