Matt and Katelyn met through mutual friends, at the good ol’Hip-E Club. After a bit of persistence, Katelyn agreed to go a date and Matt was able to work his charm. Half a decade later, whilst they were staying at Crown Perth to celebrate their anniversary, as they were getting ready to go down to dinner, Matt popped the question. Being the thoughtful guy he is, he purposely proposed just before Katelyn put on her mascara, as he knew she would cry and didn’t want it to stream down her face.
On the morning of the wedding, Kateyln was already completely ready by the time we arrived, mascara and all :) After a bit of fun in the dressing gowns, everyone was dressed and ready to go so we had lots of time for photos whilst surrounded by an aura of calm. . Yay to Katelyn’s super organisation skills.
Their rustic themed ceremony was held Lakeside at Brookleigh, one of our favourite venues. Their ceremony had the cutest details that Katelyn had painstakingly collected (she has them available for future brides to hire out so get in touch with her at Your Fine Day if you are interested)
Their vision for their wedding was for it to be a huge celebration, fun from beginning to end, and this was certainly the case. Besides for the cheeky ants trying to climb up Katelyn’s dress, everything went perfectly. The bridal party photos were taken in the Lakeside villa, the tree lined paths, glowing trees, by the lake, and in the paddock at Brookleigh. So much choice for photos so close together!
The reception was held at Stewart’s at Brookleigh, a short stroll from the ceremony location. The reception looked amazing, Twigged Flowers by Tali did an incredible job, with each centerpiece individually designed with stunning flowers and unique glass jars. The lollybar looked delicious, and another of Katelyn’s clever ideas, there was a box of thongs for the guests to use as dancing shoes, which was a great success! DJ Tony from Tonita, together with the supply of thongs kept the dance floor packed all night! Katelyn and Matt had an amazing honeymoon at The Kunja, a villa in Seminyak, Bali, and they highly recommend it for honeymooners!
Thank you Katelyn and Matt for a very fun, and photogenic day. And for staying out late whilst we had a play with some sparklers after the reception :)
